about

This release serves as a prologue to a multi-album project that follows a narrative I am writing. The story takes place in a world inspired by a chapter of the novel Einstein’s Dreams by Alan Lightman. This is a world where time moves in strange ways. The further you get from the natural ground, the slower time seems to pass. To cope with this, people concentrate their settlements on the peaks of habitable mountains in order to extend the lengths of their lives.

This breeds immense inequality. The wealthy have built massive towers that extend far above the earth, where they permanently reside; never daring to leave the safety of their sky nests. The less fortunate are forbidden from entering the structures, destined to live the entirety of their shorter lives on the surface. All of the resources required for the structures to exist are created by the labor of those on the surface, while those that live in the tower rely completely on what is provided to them from below.
